Panserin 293A is a serum-free, ready-to-use medium based on DMEM, optimized for adherent HEK293 cell culture and supporting cells that grow attached to culture surfaces. Adherent culture is often preferred for viral vector production and when harvesting secreted proteins from the medium. Alongside trace elements, lipids, vitamins and hormones, the formulation contains proteins and cholesterol; total protein and animal-derived component content is <0.2 % w/v.
